Shaping skincare through genetics
Scientific studies suggest that both lifestyle and genetic factors can influence skin structure and aging. Even under similar external conditions, people age differently—partly due to genetic variations.
Modern genetic analyses can reveal differences in traits such as skin elasticity or collagen structure that are genetically determined. These insights enable a personalized selection of cosmetic care concepts—tailored to your individual genetic characteristics.*

Common causes of skin aging
Skin aging is a natural process that can manifest differently from person to person. Key influencing factors include lifestyle choices—for example, smoking can accelerate skin aging, and an unbalanced diet may contribute to skin changes.
External factors like UV exposure or an inconsistent skincare routine are also known to affect the skin’s appearance—potentially leading to early wrinkles or reduced elasticity.
Despite similar habits and environmental influences, differences in the aging process often stem from genetic predispositions or individual biological characteristics.
Genetic analyses in skincare
Modern genetic analyses enable new approaches to personalized skincare. Specific gene variants are examined that, according to scientific studies, may provide insights into traits such as collagen structure, UV sensitivity, or the skin’s ability to retain moisture.*
Based on these genetic traits, we create a personalized recommendation for cosmetic care products or complementary micronutrient blends—as a logically derived addition to your individual skincare routine.*
Production of personalized skincare based on genetic analyses
- Our computer-controlled production processes enable the creation of individually formulated cosmetics—with automated documentation and full traceability.
- In our facility, we produce cosmetic concentrates and serums in batch sizes ranging from 1 to 5,000 liters—using defined formulations and with a strong focus on quality and hygiene.
- Personalization is based on genetic analyses that can be carried out conveniently from home and are evaluated in our certified DNA laboratory.* The results provide insights into genetic traits that are taken into account when selecting formulation components.
- With over 30 billion possible genetic profile variations, we use this data as the foundation for developing personalized care formulas.
- Production begins with the creation of high-concentration base blends, which are then combined for cosmetic personalization.

Strict quality controls
At Novogenia, we place great importance on quality in cosmetic manufacturing. Our processes are subject to defined controls at every stage of production to ensure compliance with legal requirements and a high level of product safety.
We are ISO 22000 certified for supplement production. In cosmetics manufacturing, we pay special attention to the purity of raw materials. Technologies such as reverse osmosis, double distillation, and controlled storage conditions help maintain consistent water quality.
In addition, we meet the requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation—including thorough documentation, toxicological assessments, and quality checks, even for small production batches.
True personalization at the core
Standard cosmetics don’t always match the individual characteristics of your skin. That’s why at Novogenia, we focus on a personalized selection of ingredients—based on a genetic analysis evaluated in our in-house DNA laboratory.*
Our computer-controlled filling line enables the combination of over 40 different base blends in customized cosmetic dispensers—completed with a personalized label.
The result is a tailor-made product designed to reflect both your genetic traits and personal preferences.* For certain ingredients, we use specialized microtransport systems that support the structured release of individual components.

What sets us apart

Quality controls
At Novogenia, we prioritize top-notch quality in cosmetics manufacturing through rigorous controls at every stage. Our processes adhere to the highest standards, ensuring products are both gentle on the skin and meet safety regulations.
We maintain ISO22000 certification for dietary supplements, emphasizing purity and efficacy throughout production. Special procedures, including reverse osmosis, double distillation, and high-temperature storage, ensure optimal water quality.
Additionally, we comply with strict EU directives, which mandate detailed documentation, toxicological assessments, and quality tests for all cosmetics, including small batch productions.
Pure, High-Quality Ingredients
For the production of natural cosmetic products, the selection of raw materials is crucial. The raw materials we use, as well as the suppliers, undergo strict quality controls to meet the highest standards.Â
Active ingredients from organic sources are preferred in production. These active ingredients are often characterized by their higher bioavailability and better tolerability.

Focus on genuine personalization
General cosmetic recommendations may not suit everyone and can sometimes cause skin issues. To address this, we create a unique active ingredient mixture for each customer based on a genetic test conducted in a specialized DNA lab.Â
Our automatic filling line then precisely blends over 40 pre-mixes into a customized skincare product, which is labeled with personalized details.Â
This ensures that each product is tailored to the customer’s genetic profile, providing the right ingredients and dosages for optimal skin support. Some ingredients that don’t easily penetrate the skin are delivered using personalized micro-transporters.
Personalized cosmetics as a business
Offering high-quality, personalized skincare builds long-term customer relationships. Our subscription model keeps customers updated with the latest product advancements and ensures they receive timely, ongoing care.Â
We can also customize products and services to fit third-party brands and company philosophies, and are open to collaborations and inquiries about our specialized testing and personalization methods.

How production works
1
Production of concentrates
The first step in our process chain is the production of so-called “concentrates”—specialized cosmetic base blends focused on one functional ingredient. These concentrates are produced in batch sizes of 10 to 50 liters and filled into hygienically sealed containers to ensure maximum freshness and process safety.
All raw materials used, as well as the finished concentrates, undergo internal quality control before further processing. Until approved, all batches are stored in a separate quarantine area in accordance with defined inspection protocols.
2
Individual needs assessment
We offer two options for determining a personalized formulation. The first is a genetic analysis that considers over 20 genetic markers—identified in scientific studies as potentially related to specific skin traits.*
Alternatively or in addition, a questionnaire can be completed to assess individual skin perception, care routines, and desired product features—serving as an additional basis for tailoring the product combination to personal preferences.

3
Filling of the personalized cosmetic formulation
A core element of our production is the controlled filling of personalized cosmetic formulations. Using proprietary filling technology, we can precisely combine and portion concentrates in defined quantities.
These systems are developed in-house and allow for accurate, automated processing—ideal for small batches and individualized formulations.
4
Mixing process
After filling, the concentrates remain in separate layers within the dispenser. Using our proprietary gyroscope technology, these components are homogenized directly inside the container—ensuring a smooth and even consistency of the final blend.
Our technology supports the stable integration of individual components—even in small batches with personalized compositions.

5
Creation of the personalized label
Another personal touch in our production process is the customized label. It includes the customer’s name as well as details about the specific product formulation. Each label is created individually for every dispenser—highlighting the personalized nature of the cosmetic product.
6
Complete cosmetic registration
Our process doesn’t end with filling: for each personalized formulation, we create full documentation—including a safety dossier, a toxicological assessment, and product registration in accordance with current EU cosmetic regulations.
In addition, we integrate microbiological monitoring into our production process. The creation and management of these documents is fully digital and automated—even for small batches. This approach ensures compliance with legal requirements and supports traceability and quality assurance.

*Disclaimer
Science:Â Today there are already about 4 million scientific publications that have investigated the effects of certain genetic defects on the human body. A typical finding from these sounds something like: “If you have genetic defect X, vitamin Y cannot be converted and remains ineffective.” Only when the effects of a genetic defect have been independently proven by at least three different studies is the genetic test included in the program. Therefore, the influence of a genetic defect is always supported by multiple scientific studies, and you can find the sources for these in the back section of each chapter. The genetic characteristics identified through this analysis are thus considered to be based on scientific studies.
That genes affect skin structure, aspects of skin aging and the ability to handle certain nutrients is proven by multiple scientific studies for each gene. You can find the corresponding PubMed IDs in our reports at the end of each chapter. Thus, the genetic characteristics determined through this analysis are considered scientifically confirmed. The adjustments to micronutrient dosing derived from these scientific findings require the so-called gold standard for definitive scientific proof—these are randomized, placebo-controlled studies. These already exist for folic acid and vitamin B2, but have not yet been published for all genetic effects in this program. For this reason, the genetic adaptation of cosmetics and micronutrient dosing is to be understood as an experimental stage. Your dietary supplements and cosmetics are thus experimentally adapted to your genes.
Recommendations: Recommendations based on your genetic profile. The recommendations derived from your genetic characteristics are often not determined by studies, but are frequently logical conclusions. An example: If a certain active ingredient does not work due to a genetic variation, the conclusion is to switch to another vitamin with similar effects. We achieve this, for example, by changing your cosmetic formulation or supplements. It is therefore important to understand that the recommendations developed by our experts are not based on randomized, placebo-controlled studies, but were created as logical conclusions based on your genetic characteristics.
